What to report
Every job posting on Waldo comes from a business that created an account with us. If something looks wrong, report it. Examples worth reporting:
- A posting for a job that does not exist, or a business you cannot verify
- Requests for money, gift cards, deposits, or banking details at any stage
- Requests for identity documents (SIN, passport) before a real interview
- Pay, duties, or working conditions that are misrepresented
- Discriminatory or otherwise illegal posting content
- Pressure to move communication or payment off the platform
How to report
In the app: open the posting and choose "Report this job" (currently available on Greater Toronto postings) — it takes under a minute, and you can add details if you want.
By email: info@workwithwaldo.com, with the job title and business name.
Reports are confidential. We do not share the reporter’s identity with the business.
How Waldo handles reports
Our team reviews every report within two business days. Depending on what we find, we may:
- Dismiss the report, with the reasoning recorded
- Ask the business to correct the posting
- Remove the posting
- Suspend or terminate the business’s account
- Report the matter to authorities such as the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre or police, where warranted
We may contact you for more details, and we let you know the outcome when the review closes.
Our records
Waldo keeps a register of reports and their outcomes, and keeps each replaced version of this policy for three years after it ceases to apply, in line with Ontario’s job-posting platform guidance.
Fraudulent postings are also prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy (workwithwaldo.com/acceptable-use).
