Waldo is committed to protecting personal information in accordance with Quebec's Law 25 and applicable Canadian privacy laws.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (if used for account authentication or voluntarily added to a profile)
- Profile information
- Profile photos
- Messaging content within the app
- Business listing information
- Usage data
2.1 Phone Number
If a phone number is used for sign-in or verification, it is collected for authentication, account security, and fraud prevention purposes. Providing a phone number for profile visibility or contact purposes is optional. We do not collect government identification, payment data at launch, or resume files.
3. Purpose of Collection
Information is collected to:
- Operate the platform
- Facilitate matches
- Enable communication
- Schedule interviews
- Maintain platform safety
- Improve functionality
- Provide account authentication and security
4. Data Storage and Processing
Data is stored using third-party cloud infrastructure providers, including Firebase. Data may be processed or stored outside Quebec or Canada. By using Waldo, users consent to such transfers.
5. Data Sharing
We share:
- Seeker profile information with matched businesses
- Business listing information with seekers
5.1 Phone Numbers
Phone numbers are not automatically shared with other users. A user's phone number will only be shared with another user if: The user explicitly chooses to share it, or the user consents during the interview scheduling process. We do not sell personal information.
6. Interviews and Off-Platform Communications
The platform may allow users to schedule phone or video interviews. Waldo does not record calls or monitor off-platform communications. Any communication occurring outside the platform is solely between users.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information while accounts remain active and as reasonably necessary for legal, regulatory, or dispute resolution purposes. Upon account deletion:
- Profile data is removed
- Messages may be anonymized
- Backup copies may temporarily persist
8. Security
We implement commercially reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. However, no system is completely secure, and users acknowledge transmission of information is at their own risk.
9. User Rights (Law 25)
Users may request:
- Access to their personal information
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of their information (subject to legal limitations)
